Ways You Can Help

Being a volunteer operation, we are always looking for additional volunteers to assist, especially to foster and take animals to/from vet appointments. Our operation doesn't work without the help of these vital volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us at info@lchspaws-al.org.

Monetary donations are welcome and we have a variety of convenient ways to do that, just click the DONATE button at the top of the page.

DID YOU KNOW??

Every county is required by the State of Alabama to have an appointed Animal Control Office/Officer. Lamar County has none, which is one reason we have very limited resources, no physical facility, and an abundance of animals that are overlooked daily. We have contacted our County and State leaders a multitude of times, but they see this as too far down the list of priorities to address.

There is a direct relation according to statistics for animal abuse or neglect and violent crimes, as most violent crimes begin with animals. In addition, stray and neglected animals deters business owners and entrepreneurs from coming into our area due to the outside appearance of how it looks that our community and it's officials take care of and handle the community.

If you care about these issues and want to see our county follow the rules of the State, please contact your community leaders and commissioners. The Lamar County Commission can be reached by email at lamarcountycommission@yahoo.com, (205) 695-7333, or their Facebook
